両足院の半夏生(Hangesho of Ryosokuin Temple)

二十四節季七十二候の第三十候が半夏生の日、夏至から数えて１１日目です
その頃に葉が白くなり花が咲く植物が半夏生(半化粧)
京都建仁寺の塔頭「両足院」の庭に咲く半夏生はよく知られています
時期的に少し早いので半夏生ならぬ三分の一夏生でしたが手入れの良い庭園は
日頃の雑踏から逃れ心を癒やすには余りあるほどでした

From late June through summer every year, "hangesho" leaves around the pond in the "Shoin Garden" turn a lovely white color and drape the garden with beauty.
Ryosokuin temple is also known as the "hangesho temple".
